Designer Amy was always obsessed with style – whether it was creating accessories and clothing to sell to local boutiques or spending hours putting together the perfect outfit.

Growing up on a laid back island off the coast of Georgia and being raised by her artistic parents, Amy was heavily influenced at an early age. After moving to Hong Kong with her husband she felt that it was the best time to pursue her own fashion line.

Amy states that her inspirations derive from:

….beautiful things that are well made, with rich and luxurious fabrics. I’m passionate about art, music, modern architecture, and all things chic. And I think the girls of Charlie’s Angels were possibly the chicest on earth…

What is appealing about this fashion line is how elements such as masculinity/femininity and muted/bold colors coexist seamlessly.

The show takes up the entire multilevel center which spans 4 blocks, as well as Pier 94. Amongst the 2,700 exhibitors you’ll find everything from furniture and housewares to personal accessories, wearables, skincare, jewelry and handmade goods. With that many exhibitors of small items you can imagine how much of a headache it can be walking through the show but we did manage to scope out a few things we liked. Check em out.

That meant reconnecting and sight seeing with family and close friends that might as well be family. You know we all have that “play cousin”.

Downtown Philly is definitely the place to be. The architecture is inspiring and the brightly colored murals are a work of art! And of course the shopping is amazing!

My cousin took us to this shopping/dining district on South Street. It was love at first sight.

The first stop was Retrospect. Established in 2001 this store is the perfect place to find vintage skirts, coats, hats…anything you could think of, on a budget.

Next stop was Eyes Gallery. This gallery/boutique was beyond awesome! The first thing you’ll notice are the brightly colored mosaic walls and artifacts from all over the world. As you make your way towards the back of the gallery you’ll come across a spiral staircase that seems endless.

Great company, great times, and in a wonderful city. Make sure South Street is on your to-do list of  vacation destinations.

We were a bit early for all the festivities, but we did make some new friends and picked up a fabulous new tee.

As you might recall from MADE Episode 2, The Brooklyn Circus’ Fillmore shop is a gem amongst the hustle and bustle of the City.  The store has a unique vintage quality that we absolutely love.

The best thing about the store are the friendly faces behind the counter. We were immediately greeted by Jeff Gaines, a fashion student from the Academy of Art and Nchimunya Wulf who showed us around the shop.  They treated us to mini red velvet cupcakes and some bubbly and made us feel at home.  It was quite the shopping experience :)
