It’s moments like these, when we remember why we love fashion not for the sake of lookin’ good and showing out, but for the creativity and art behind it. It’s always a bit of a slipperly slope when it comes to fashnionmania, skeeting from absolute vapidness to actual culture-worthy art (trust, we can spend days debating this). It only makes sense that we are knocked back into reality, taken off our superficial high horse of needing this, this, and that when a beloved label shuts its doors.
Granted, we can’t afford a single thing (even on sale, clearance, or consigned) from PHI, but that doesn’t take away our desire to be patrons of the design house just to keep it open to produce a few more masterpiece collections. [WWD]
Ces’t la vie, at least we got a chance earlier this year at Carrot to prance around in a $1000 PHI leather miniskirt. Out of reach, yes, but not out of appreciation.
See you on the flipside PHI. xoxo
